Suspected thugs and drug dealers have been arrested by the police in Kano State. This was revealed by the state command after massive operations to rid the state of criminal elements.
CP Habu A. Sani, Commissioner of Police in Kano State, confirmed this news during a courtesy visit by the Ambassador Maryam Hassan, Executive Director, League for Societal Protection Against Drug Abuse.
Observatory reports from Kano indicate high use of drug abuse, which the CP has vowed to put to an end since his assumption of office late last year.
Part of items seized from suspects includes 11 cartons of codeine, 1600 parcels of Indian hemp, 1500 machetes and 500 cartons of intoxicating substances
Commending the efforts of the police, the Executive Director, League for Societal Protection Against Drug Abuse, Ambassador Maryam Hassan, appreciated the effort of the Commissioner of Police and his men in the fight against drug abuse, saying crime and drug abuse are interrelated.
